Performer Susheel Bibbs (Cheryl Susheel Bibbs) is also an award-winning author, an EMMY award-winning TV Executive Producer (WGBH-TV), an award-winning radio producer (CPB/PBS) and an Independent filmmaker/director. Bibbs tours with screenings of her films, continues to perform as an actress and classical singer, and continues creating Independent works. Her recent documentary feature Meet Mary Pleasant, Mother of Civil Rights in California is now on PBS and was officially screened at The Cannes Film Festival (Marche du Film). This film and her others on Pleasant: Meet Mary Pleasant (40 min.) and The Legacy of Mary Ellen Pleasant (30 min) have won 5 international film-festival awards and a California Silver Telly broadcast award. They are now available on DVD along with An Unsung Muse, Classical Song of Black Composers, which originally screened on Bay Area television.
